A combination of three kinds of ice cream, six different toppings, three syrups and about 100 hungry Penske employees resulted in a fabulous and memorable event on Friday, September 23, in the Penske meeting room.
Looking for a way to thank the Penske dealership for their generosity, the Southwest Corvette Club, SWC, treated the Penske employees to an elaborate ice cream event.
Organizers, Jan Lombardo and Victoria Gammer, couldn’t have pulled it off without the efficient ice cream servers: Jan Hayes, Carmine Pilichi, Walt Wendelstein, and President Dennis Lombardo.
On event day, word spread fast through the dealership during set up. Although it was scheduled to last from 1-3 pm, employees began peeking in around noon in hopes of being first in line.
Jan created a fabulous backdrop, coordinated table coverings, and glass serving bowls. Jan and Victoria wore eye-catching ice cream cone hats to draw attention to the event.
Walt, Carmine and Dennis scooped at least 150 servings in two hours. Chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream was offered along with fudge, caramel and strawberry syrup. The most popular topping were nuts and oreo crumbles.
The enthusiasm and smiles from the employees was a joy to see and made all the hard work worth it.
