Dwight Wilson update....  3-10-10

As things stand now, my precious DW will remain in hospice until he returns to God.  They are able to keep him comfortable and, for this I am grateful.  He is no longer able to eat or drink.

I did all I was able, with help of dear friends, to care for him here at home, however, hospice care is best for him now.

Please pray he may "go gently into the night" and be received by our Holy One into Light for all eternity.  Preparing for the inevitable is what I must do now.  With your blessings and prayers, I can continue on until the time I too, am called home again.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all your thoughts and prayers for us.

He is in Citrus Valley Hospice in Covina.  It is located on Badillo St. just east of Azusa Ave..off the 10 freeway...in case you wish to speak your final farewell to DW.  If you are unable for any reason, rest assured...I tell him of your love and prayers..each of you.

With my love and prayers,

Maria+

OPEN TRACK RACING

OK Racer Buddies...

Our next event is scheduled for March 10, 2010 on the big track at Willow Springs. This event will be run in the same fashion as all previous events. We will have three run groups, beginner, intermediate and advanced. Each run group will get (5) 30 minute run sessions totaling 2 1/2 hours of track time. For all newbie's or people who want to attend, we will have classroom instruction followed by on-track instruction. As always, all paid participants will get an all you can eat BBQ lunch and an OPEN TRACK RACING T-Shirt. The price for this event is $155. 14 days prior to the event the price goes up to $180, and the day of the event the price goes up to $205. I hate to up the price for late sign ups, but if I didn’t everyone would just show up at the track and pay. Please remember that all OTR events are open to all that want to attend (except for people that might be faster then me), so please tell a friend!

You can register and get more information by going to www.opentrackracing.com , or you can call me at (818) 206-8559.

Thanks, and See You at the Track!

Thought I'd "brag" a little bit about the tremendous awards Dave Grant and I received at the Long Beach Grand Prix Corvette Corral car show. On Saturday, Dave and I participated in the Corvette Corral sponsored by "Corvette Racing". As part of this event, the cars were judged by the Corvette Racing team drivers; Johnny O'Connell, Olivier Beretta, Oliver Gavin and Jan Magnussen. The driver's picked their favorite corvettes out of the 50+ vettes in attendance. Johnny O'Connell, driver of Corvette #3, picked Dave Grant's astoundingly beautiful 1964 coupe, noting on the judging sheet that he was impressed with the "old school" styling and overall condition of the car. Olivier Beretta, driver of Corvette #4, picked Bob Tomlin's 1999 coupe, noting on the judging sheet that he liked the cowl hood and nice overall style of the car.  The awards are (2) beautiful book style presentations with the "Corvette" logo on one side and picture frame on the other. The yellow logo background is autographed by the judge C6R driver. Dave and Bob also received an autographed judging sheet with the driver comments noted. Needless to say, we were both quite surprised by these awards, given the other beautiful C4's, 5's and 6's in attendance. Dave and I both agree that these awards are probably the most cherished we have EVER received! Of special note is the fact that Dave's 64 was the only "vintage" corvette in the mix notwithstanding the beauty of this awesome car. Obviously Johnny O'Connell loved it, as did numerous other race patrons and vette owners who commented on the "coolness' of Dave's ride.

Just thought you'd all like to know.

Take care,

Bob Tomlin
